It says some progress isn't backed up, or backups are paused

Some progress isn't backed up yet means the phone has not reached the backup service since your last lesson. It keeps retrying on its own and nothing is lost.

Backups are paused on this phone. or Signed out — tap to sign back in means the phone was signed out. Tap it, choose Sign back in, and type the code sent to the family's email. Backups pick up where they stopped.
