Privacy policy

Effective October 6, 2026. Araw is made by Pie R Square LLC (Florida, USA). This page says exactly what Araw stores, why, and how to delete it. There are no ads and no tracking in Araw, on any plan.

What Araw stores, and why

On your phone only (no account needed)

The journeys on that phone: the names and avatars you type for learners, the answers you gave when setting a journey up, their learning progress, and your settings (sounds, haptics, appearance). This stays on the phone unless you join a family plan or copy a journey code.

One thing leaves the phone even on the free plan: when Araw starts, our billing service (RevenueCat) gives the install a random ID, so that a purchase can be found again. It is not tied to your name or your email.

With a family plan

  • An email address: the family's, used to sign in with emailed codes and to send those codes. The app shows it partly hidden.
  • An account ID: a random ID for the family account. The sign-in, backup and billing services use it to know which family a phone belongs to.
  • A device name you type for each phone, its model, and the role of each phone (owner or member). To tell the family's phones apart, Araw also stores an identifier for each phone: the app's own Android ID, which belongs to this app alone and changes if the phone is factory-reset, and when that phone joined, was last seen, or left.
  • Each journey's backup: the learner's name and avatar as typed, the language, the answers given when the journey was set up (who is learning, why, and the starting level), the learning progress (words seen, stars, games finished) and the journey's settings. Backups let every phone in the family show the same progress.
  • Family settings: whether a family PIN or journey PINs are set (stored as salted hashes, never the PIN itself) and which journeys see the whole family.
  • A purchase record from Google Play that says the plan is active, so other phones in the family can use it. We never receive your card or payment details. The billing service also shows us how many purchases and renewals there are.

When you ask for help

The help form, or an email to us, gives us your email address, what you wrote, and anything you chose to add: which phone it is, its make and model, an order number, screenshots. An automated assistant reads the request first and sends the matching help answers. A person handles everything else. If you ask for a person after an automated answer, we also keep your answers about what you tried, and the family's email address if you type it again. Help requests are kept for 400 days and screenshots for 14 days.

Araw does not collect location, contacts, microphone audio or advertising identifiers, and it does not measure how you use the app. The app's "Say it" practice listens on the phone only; nothing recorded leaves the phone.

Children

Araw is made for families learning together, and some learners are children. Only an adult, the family owner, creates the family account, with their own email address. For a child we store only what the family types (a first name or nickname and an avatar), the answers given when the journey was set up, and the learning progress. We do not ask children for any personal information, show them ads, or let them contact anyone through the app. A family PIN keeps family settings and purchases out of a child's hands.

Who processes the data for us

Each processes data only to run Araw. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to train anything.

How long we keep it

Journey backups and family settings are kept while the family plan exists. When you delete the family, they are deleted immediately. If a plan lapses and is not renewed, the backups are kept so you can come back; ask us to have them removed sooner.

The record of a purchase stays with Google Play and our billing service after a family is deleted. It is what lets the plan be restored.

Your choices

This website

This website uses no cookies of its own. The help form loads one thing from another company: Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from automated programs. It runs in your browser when the form opens and uses signals from the browser to decide. Cloudflare says what Turnstile collects in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Nothing else on this website comes from other companies.
